I am writing to express my interest in a nanny position in the area of Cologne, Germany. Due to recent organizational changes, my role at a bilingual Montessori kindergarten came to an end, and I am now eager to find new opportunities in the childcare field.

I began my teaching career at Boston University, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in bilingual education. After completing my student teaching year in an English-as-a-second-language classroom, I took a gap year and worked as an au pair for a German family. This experience was incredibly rewarding. I especially appreciated being the children’s first exposure to English, facilitating their English language learning, and witnessing them acquire both German and English simultaneously.

Inspired by my time as an au pair, I pursued a master’s in linguistics, which led to a role as an editor at a consultancy. While I enjoyed applying my skills as a language specialist, I missed working with kids and was eager to transition back to a career in childcare. Most recently, I worked at a bilingual Montessori kindergarten, where I further developed my skills in supporting young children’s cognitive and language development through creative, play-based learning.

I am passionate about creating a nurturing, stimulating environment for young learners and am excited to bring my background in bilingual education, early childhood development, and multilingual communication to your family.
